Come be part of an extracurricular activity that is more – it’s an event your child will never forget! 2021 is the 15th year for A Christmas Karol, and we invite your children to register for the production. We always remember our early theatre experiences, and it would be difficult to find a gentler and more uplifting introduction to theatre than the Karol Wojtyła Nativity Play! Visit our Contact Page to get in touch with us.

BABY JESUS
Every year, the play features one newborn baby who plays the double role of the infant child Jesus and his relative, the infant John the Baptist. If you know an expectant mother, we are looking for a baby, male or female, who will be between 3 - 10 weeks old by December 1. The family of baby Jesus receives a free keepsake video of the performance and free tickets for the performance.
REHEARSAL INFORMATION
(Actors in sheep roles need to attend only the final two dress rehearsals, one at our practice venue and one at our performance venue.)
Rehearsals are held once a week in the evenings during the months of October and November. They take place at St. Thomas More Catholic Parish in Edmonton, easily accessible from Terwillegar Drive or the Henday.
ABOUT THE SCRIPT
The script is an adaptation of the New Testament (Revised Standard Version), written locally and dedicated to Pope John Paul II. This adaptation preserves the text in its original form, without abridgment or simplification. This means that the passages which your child memorizes will be true to the gospel narrative. Extra lines have been added in order to develop certain characters, but these additions are inspired by reputable sources (St. Mary of Agreda and St. Catherine Emmerich) and maintain a reverent attitude in keeping with the subject matter.
